Halloween Snowy Owl

Inspired by my love for both all things Harry Potter and Halloween, let me introduce to you the Halloween Snowy Owl. Cute and fluffy, this patterns works up quick and was so fun to make. I hope it brings joy to your home and a little bit of magic!

Pattern written in US terminology

Worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise noted

Stitches:

Sc: Single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
Dc: double crochet
Tr: treble crochet
Sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together. 
Blsc: back loop single crochet
Ch: Chain
Sts: Stitches
FO: Finish off 

Pattern Notes:
1. Body, wings and tail worked in Buttercream Luxe craft, Angel Hair Bulky yarn (5) in white; using an 8.00 mm hook (Less than 1 skein used)

2. Eyes, feet, beak and hat worked in worsted weight yarn of your choosing; using a 5.00 mm hook. I used the following colors:

Color A: Black
Color B: Orange
Color C: Green

Main Body (worked top down):
Rd. 1: Magic circle, sc 3 into magic circle and tighten circle (3 sc)
Rd. 2: 2 sc around (6 sc)
Rd. 3: 2 sc around (12 sc)
Rd. 4: [sc, 2 sc] repeat 6 x (18 sc)
Rd. 5: [sc 2, 2 sc] repeat 6 x (24 sc)
Rd. 6 – 9: sc around (24 sc)
Rd. 10: [sc 3, 2 sc] repeat 6 x (30 sc)
Rd. 11 – 12: sc around (30 sc)
Rd. 13: [sc 3, sc2tog] repeat 6 x (24 sc)
Rd. 14: sc around (24 sc)

**Stuff body with fiber filling**

Rd. 15: [sc 2, sc2tog] repeat 6 x (18 sc)
Rd. 16: sc around (18 sc)
Rd. 17: [sc, sc2tog] repeat 9 x (12 sc)
Rd. 18: blsc around (12 sc)
Rd. 19: [sc2tog] repeat 6 x (6 sc), top off with more fiber fill and FO. Weave in ends. 

Wings (make 2):
Rd. 1: Magic circle, sc 3 into magic circle and tighten circle (3 sc)
Rd. 2: 2 sc around (6 sc)
Rd. 3: 2 sc around (12 sc)
Rd. 4: sc, 2 sc, hdc, 2hdc, dc, 2dc, tr, 2tr, ch 3, sl st in next st, sc3 (6 sc, 3 hdc, 3 dc, 3 tr, ch. 3)
Rd. 5: [sc 2, 2 sc] repeat 4 x, sl st into top of ch. 3 (16 sc), FO and leave a long tail to attach to the body.

**One wing will be attached with right side facing and the other will be attached with the wrong side facing. Wing tips at back of body should be approximately 3 st apart**

Tail:
Rd. 1: Ch. 8, sl st into 1st ch, ch 1 (8 sc)
Rd. 2: sc in each ch (8 sc)
Rd. 3: [sc2tog, sc 2] repeat 2x (6 sc)
Rd. 4: [sc2tog, sc] repeat 2x (4 sc), FO and sew the ends together, leave a long tail to attach to the body.

**Attach the tail between the tips of the wings**

Eyes (make 2):
Rd. 1 (in color A): Magic circle, sc 3 into magic circle and tighten circle (3 sc)
Rd. 2 (in color A): 2 sc around (6 sc)
Rd. 3 (in color B): ch. 2, 2 dc around (12 dc), FO and leave long tail to attach to main body

**Attach eyes evenly between the wings at the top of the body**

Beak:
Row 1 (in color A): Ch. 4, sk 1 ch, sc, hdc, dc. FO and leave a long tail to attach to the main body

**Attach beak one row down and between the two eyes**

Feet (make 2):
Rd. 1 (in color B): Magic circle, sc 3 into magic circle and tighten circle (3 sc)
Rd. 2: 2 sc around (6 sc)
Rd. 3: 2 sc around (12 sc)
Rd. 4: [sc, ch. 3, sc into same stitch] repeat 3x, sc 9, sl st into 1st sc, FO and leave long end to attach to body.

**Attach feet to the bottom of the body with toes pointing forward toward the eyes**

Hat (in color C):
Rd. 1: Magic circle, sc 3 into magic circle and tighten circle (3 sc)
Rd. 2: 2 sc around (6 sc)
Rd. 3: [sc, 2 sc] repeat 3x (9 sc)
Rd. 4 – 6: sc around (9 sc)
Rd. 7: [sc 2, 2 sc] repeat 3x (12 sc)
Rd. 8: sc around (12 sc)
Rd. 9: [sc 3, 2 sc] repeat 3x (15 sc)
Rd. 10 – 11: sc around (15 sc)
Rd. 12: [sc 4, 2 sc] repeat 3x (18 sc)
Rd. 13: [sc 5, 2 sc] repeat 3x (21 sc)
Rd. 14: [sc 6, 2sc] repeat 3x (24 sc)
Rd. 15 – 16: sc around (24 sc)
Rd. 17: [sc 3, 2sc] repeat 6x (30 sc)
Rd. 18: sc around (30 sc)
Rd. 19: [sc 4, 2 sc] repeat 6x (36 sc)
Rd. 20: [sc, 2 sc] repeat 15x (45 sc)
Rd. 21: [sc 2, 2sc] repeat 15x (60 sc)
Rd. 22: [sc 4, 2 sc] repeat 12x (72 sc)
Rd. 23: sc around (72 sc), FO and leave a long tail to attach to body.

**Attach the hat to the top of the head**
