This pattern was so much fun to make! I had the orange, green and white left over from other projects and figured it would be a fun, festive way to celebrate this scrap yarn. Just in time to sit on your Thanksgiving table, give this quick project a go and enjoy this wonderful season!

Rd. 19: [hdc, hdc2tog] repeat 6x (12 hdc)
Rd. 20: [hdc2tog] repeat 6x, sl st. in 1st hdc of the round, FO and leave a long tail. (6 hdc)
Sew the bottom closed with tail and weave in ends.
Cut a LONG (seriously, mine was a yard long) length of yarn in color B to section off pumpkin into 5 lobes. I doubled the yarn on the sewing needle so I had 2 strands separating each lobe. Working from bottom to top, pull yarn through and then over the side back to bottom and then through the center of the pumpkin to the top. Repeat 3 more times (4 double strands over the sides to create 5 lobes. Tie off the ends at the bottom of the pumpkin and weave in strands.
**Make sure you pull tight when going over the side and back up through the center to give good definition to the lobes. They don’t have to be perfect! Pumpkins are each unique and that’s what makes this fun!
Feet (make 2 in color B):
Rd. 1: Magic circle, sc 6 into magic circle and tighten (6 sc)
Rd. 2: 2 sc around (12 sc)
Rd. 3: [sc, 2sc] repeat 6x (18 sc)
Rd. 4: sc in each st. around (18 sc)
Rd. 5: [sc, sc2tog] repeat 6x (12 sc)
Rd. 6: [sc 2, sc2tog] repeat 3x (9 sc)
Rd. 7 – 9: sc in each around, sl st. in 1st sc, do not FO.
Pinch the open side together and sc 4 across to close, FO and leave a long tail to attach to pumpkin body.
Attach to bottom on either side of the biggest lobe (see reference photo at top)
Nose (in color B):
Rd. 1: Magic circle, sc 4 into magic circle and tighten (4 sc)
Rd. 2: 2 sc around (8 sc)
Rd. 3: [sc2tog] repeat 4x, sl st. into 1st st. and FO. Leave a long tail to attach to pumpkin body (4 sc)
Attach to the largest lobe 3/4 of the way up from the bottom of the pumpkin. You basically want this sitting right below where you will attach the hat.
Beard (in color C):
Cut 6 long strands of color C. Attach to the front of the largest lobe, like tassels, above the nose. Leave room for the hat to be attached so you can’t see the loops. Separate the yarn into individual strands after attaching; see photo above.
Hat (in color B):
Rd. 1: Magic circle, sc 3 into magic circle and tighten circle (3 sc)
Rd. 2: 2 sc around (6 sc)
Rd. 3: [sc, 2 sc] repeat 3x (9 sc)
Rd. 4: [sc 2, 2 sc] repeat 3x (12 sc)
Rd. 5 – 7: sc around (12 sc)
Rd. 8: [sc 3, 2 sc] repeat 3x (15 sc)
Rd. 9 – 10: sc around (15 sc)
Rd. 11: [sc 4, 2 sc] repeat 3x (18 sc)
Rd. 12: [sc 5, 2 sc] repeat 3x (21 sc)
Rd. 13: [sc 6, 2sc] repeat 3x (24 sc)
Rd. 14 – 15: sc around (24 sc)

Rd. 17: sc around (30 sc)
Rd. 18: [sc 4, 2 sc] repeat 6x (36 sc)
Rd. 19: [sc, 2 sc] repeat 15x (54 sc)
Rd. 20: sc around (54 sc)
Rd. 21: [sc 4, 2 sc] repeat 9x, sc in last 4 st, sl st. into 1st sc, FO leaving a long tail to attach to body (72 sc)
Rd. 23: sc around (72 sc), FO and leave a long tail to attach to body.
**Attach the hat to the top of the pumpkin**
