London Child Sweater – CAL #2

Are you ready for installment #2 of the London Child Sweater? I sure am! Usually I’d be spending all day today doing prep work for tomorrow’s thanksgiving (I host for 14+ family members on a typical Thanksgiving!), but instead I gave baths to my two dogs (washing a 70-pound Husky/Great Pyrenees Mix is HARD WORK) and wrote up this CAL! So if you’re like me, and you’re having a much more relaxed day tomorrow that you would usually have, then pick up that crochet hook, and get working on this lovely sweater for that little one in your life!

So, at the end of last week, you finished Round 3 of the Yoke. Today, we finish the yoke and move on to the body! This includes the lovely cabling pattern, for which I’ve included picture instructions below! Supplies and starter info is all in CAL #1, which you can find HERE! Have fun!

Yoke:

Round 4: Follow Instructions for Left Cross Round. (10, 10, 10, 11 repeats)

Round 5: Follow Instructions for Right Cross Round. (10, 10, 10, 11 repeats)

Round 6: Ch2. *Dc in next 8 (8, 8, 9) sts. 2dc in next st.* Repeat * to * around. HOWEVER, on the final stitch of sizes 6 and up, put 1 dc in the final stitch instead of 2. Sl st to top of first st. (100, 100, 100, 110). Skip to Arm/Body Split for sizes 3T and 4T.

Round 7: Ch2. *Dc in next X (X, 9, 10) sts. 2dc in next st.* Repeat * to * around. Sl st to top of first st. (X, X, 110, 120). Skip to Arm/Body Split for sizes 5 and 6.

Arm/Body Split:

Round 1: Ch2. Dc in 29 (29, 33, 35) sts. Skip 21 (21, 22, 25) sts. Ch2 (4, 3, 4). Dc in 29 (29, 33, 35) sts. Skip 21 (21, 22, 25, 27, 28, 31) sts. Ch2 (4, 3, 4). Sl st to top of first st. (62, 66, 72, 78)

Round 2: Ch2. Dc in each dc and in each chain around. Sl st to top of first st. (62, 66, 72, 78)

Repeat Round 2 until piece measures 6.5” (7”, 7.5”, 8”) from the underarm. DO NOT FO.

Next week we’ll continue to the RIBBING on the bottom of the sweater, and we’ll finish up the sweater with the arms! Can you believe in a week you’ll be DONE with this sweater?! Amazing!
