So, you all know how much I LOVE texture, right? Well, I think I’ve made my best hat yet! Check this out: It has picots. It has Puffs. It has a Diamond Trellis Stitch – but a DOUBLE LAYER of them! I can’t tell you how fun this hat looks when it’s done. And it’s totally UNISEX, and comes in Adult XL for those with larger heads *cough*myhusband*cough*! I can’t tell you how bored I get with plain stitches for mens and boys clothing and hats, but make this in a dark gray and it’ll please even your toughest giftee!

Yarn:
You will need 5.5 and 6mm hooks, and 140-180 yards of any #4 Worsted Weight yarn. Any #4 yarn will work, tho the specific ones used here were either discontinued or unknown.
Inspiration:
Sometimes you just need to play around with texture. This set is the product of that! This highly textured set is overflowing with texture. It works up fast, and is so fun to make, it’s sure to be a hit with everybody! With the picots and puffs, the texture of this set is sure to stand out. You can also make it all in one color for a more demure look!
Construction:
The hat comes in sizes Baby (14″) to Adult XL (23″), so it can fit just about any head – so make one for the whole family! And the fingerless gloves also come in two sizes, regular and large! You will need a basic understanding of the usual crochet stitches, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet, and picots. There are also written instructions for the big puff and the front post stitches that give the Double Diamond its name!
