This is an easy pattern for a beginner looking to dabble in crochet color work. The flannel pattern is a crowd pleaser, and perfect for that upcoming fall weather! You can add a Pom Pom to the top of your beanie or leave it without, for added versatility.

You can find the pattern on both Ravelry and Etsy!

Yarn:

I made this out of worsted weight yarn. Each piece uses a small amount of each color yarn, so it’s a perfect stash-buster! I had Lion Brand Heartland on hand as well as Red Heart Super Saver, and these hats worked up great in both!

Inspiration:

For this set, I took a request from a good friend of mine. She loves flannel and wanted a set for her whole family for Christmas pictures! I have to say, it came out great, so maybe I should take more requests from her in the future!

Construction:

This bag is made in the round, and picture instructions are given for how to line and add the zipper, so it’s perfect even if you’re new to lining and sewing! You will need to know the basic crochet stitches chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet. Instruction is given for puff stitches, post stitches, and the I-cord strap.

Supplies:

Worsted yarn: I used Red Heart Super Saver and Lion Brand Heartland yarns, but any #4 yarn will do; Need Main Color (MC) and Accent Color (AC)

5.0mm and 5.5mm hooks

Finished measurements: Baby (13”); toddler (16”); young child (18”); Adult (20”)

Gauge: Using larger of the hooks, 7 stitches and 7 rows is 2” by 2” square, in sc BLO

You can find the pattern on both Ravelry and Etsy!
